It has apparently been six months (!) since my last blog post. Wow. It’s hard to believe the last time I posted on here was right after APAC. It has been a busy six months, and honestly a busy year overall. I’ve spent the second half of the year doing a lot of audiobooks for Tantor, as well as working on projects for Audible Studios, Dreamscape, Amazon and Microsoft. I am also almost finished recording the 9-book Ministry of Curiosities series, which really saddens me.
Next year looks equally busy, with work lined up into March, which is about as comfortable as I can get scheduling-wise, since I have some major plans personally that will keep me busy over the Spring.
When I think of my goals for this year, I’m actually pretty amazed at what I got done. I recorded more books this year than I have in previous years, and that’s even with a lull I had at the beginning of the year. As I mentioned, I worked with some amazing publishers, and even got a wonderful review in AudioFile for my first Middle Grade title. I continued working with a coach on my video game voice work as well as working with a coach on creating characters for audiobooks, or more accurately, being able to rapidly and believably bounce between characters in audiobooks.
Outside of my little bubble, there have been some developments in voice over that have left people concerned, but perhaps I’m naïve, but I’m feeling okay right now.As for 2018? Who knows. I have some hopes and plans. But mostly I just want to keep working and connect with wonderful people.
